The Open Program will return to New York to continue their work with the communities of the Bronx in two different moments of 2017. A first visit will involve the director of the group, Mario Biagini, accompanied by other members of the Open Program. This first visit will serve to lay the foundations for a new development of the NYC Open Choir Movement: the creation of a performance event that will involve both professional actors and actresses and members of different communities. Specifically, during the first visit in June / July, Mario Biagini and his assistants will meet homeless people that are part of social inclusion programs in the area of the Mid-Bronx; they will also meet former prisoners and detainees in collaboration with Stella Adler Studio; and resume contacts with the elderly population of the Mid-Bronx Senior Citizen Center. From these first meetings will appear the core of people who will be involved in the production which will be completed during the autumn.
